Our lungs enable us to take in oxygen from the atmosphere and to dispose of the carbon dioxide, which our cells produce as a waste product.

To breath in your diaphragm (a large muscle below the lungs) contracts, your ribs are raised upwards and air is sucked into you r lungs. When you breath out your diaphragm and ribs relax and the air is forced out again......
